The Scan Client function in BleachBit is designed to identify and list unnecessary files that can be safely deleted to free up disk space and protect your privacy. Here’s how it works:
How the Scan Function Works
- Selecting Categories:
- BleachBit provides a list of categories, each representing different types of files and applications (e.g., web browsers, system files, office applications).
- You can select the categories you want to scan by checking the corresponding boxes in the BleachBit Agent interface.
- Scanning for Files:
- Once you select the categories, BleachBit scans your system for files that match the criteria of the selected categories. This includes temporary files, cache, cookies, logs, and other junk files.
- The scan process is thorough and targets specific file types and locations, ensuring that only unnecessary files are identified.
Benefits of Scanning
- Identifies Unnecessary Files: Helps you find and remove files that are no longer needed, freeing up valuable disk space.
- Enhances Privacy: Identifies and allows you to delete sensitive data, such as browser history and cookies, to protect your privacy.
- Improves System Performance: By removing junk files, the scan function can help improve your system’s performance and responsiveness.
View the Last Sync timestamp which tells you the last automated or manual scan run against the client.
You will find the Scan Client command under the Commands menu. This will manually cause RMMmax to request from RMM to have the agents rescan their volumes and return results. This will only happen on enabled agents and the agent will need to be online.
