The clean function in BleachBit is designed to remove unnecessary files and free up disk space on your computer. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
How the Clean Function Works
- Selecting Cleaners:
- BleachBit provides a list of cleaners for various applications and system components. Each cleaner targets specific types of files, such as temporary files, cache, cookies, and logs.
- You can select the cleaners you want to use by checking the corresponding boxes in the BleachBit interface.
- Previewing Changes:
- Before making any changes, you can click the Preview button to see a list of files that will be deleted. This allows you to review and ensure that no important files are accidentally removed.
- The preview is a safe operation that makes no changes to your system.
- Cleaning:
- Once you are satisfied with the preview, you can click the Delete button to perform the actual cleaning. BleachBit will then delete the selected files, freeing up disk space and potentially improving system performance.
Types of Files Cleaned
- System Files: Temporary files, system logs, and other unnecessary system data.
- Application Data: Cache, cookies, and history from web browsers and other applications.
- User Data: Temporary files and other junk files created by user activities.
To clean agents, select one or more agents from the agent list, then select the Clean menu item from the Commands menu. This will cause RMMmax to send a request to RMM to have agents clean the current options list.
