We had in one of our test environments a client where all agents under client were repeatedly in the logs with the Auto Installer. Upon further investigation, the agents in questions all were missing one package from the approved software list. The package was the 7Zip-Install package on the Chocolatey Community Repository.

And their in lies our problem, In fact 7Zip-Install is not on the Chocolatey Community Repository, 7Zip.Install is.

A simple typo in the approved applications list will cause a package to fail install and will trigger the auto installer to try again each day until resolved. Check your repositories and make sure package names are correct if you see a daily repeating auto installer log.

A couple of things to consider, If you are just updating the API Secret and all the clients and agents will remain with the same ID’s then you can just change the API URL or secret and be done. Otherwise, if you are moving hosts where agent IDs are going to change or not exist as they were, you can purge the data from the system which will cause either part, or all the agent and client configurations to be removed. Purging data will not affect console configurations like Onboard Presets, RMM Communications and Team Members.

You can find the purge tools under the Tools main menu.
